Configure hourly check-in messages

Save the message TiaraBot uses for each running channel and event-relative schedule hour.

Mana/moni can save a check-in message for each running channel and event-relative Schedule Hour. The setting is shared between TiaraBot and SheetWeb, so an edit in either client is available to the other one.

Who can edit

A member with a registered TiaraBot monitor role or Discord's Manage Server permission can view and edit hourly messages. The editor's YOUR MONI HOUR marker is a scheduling hint. It does not limit which hours that person can edit.

Open the editor in SheetWeb

  1. Open the server in SheetWeb and go to Settings → Check-in messages.
  2. Choose a running channel.
  3. Select an event-relative schedule hour. The editor shows the event window and the selected channel so it is clear which message you are changing.
  4. Enter the message template and select Save message.

The editor changes one channel and one hour at a time. It marks the current hour, your scheduled moni hours, and whether the selected hour has a Custom message or the Random default.

Write a message template

Templates use the existing TiaraBot placeholders. Every placeholder is optional.

PlaceholderReplaced with
{{mentionsString}}Mentions for the fillers assigned to the hour.
{{conversationString}}The running channel name.
{{hourString}}The selected event-relative schedule hour.
{{timeStampString}}The start and end time for the selected hour.

You can use any combination of placeholders, or none of them. Unknown or malformed template text stays as written. SheetWeb highlights the supported placeholders and shows an example preview next to the editor. The preview uses example participants and times, not live check-in data.

Restore the random default

Save an empty or whitespace-only message to clear the custom value for that hour. TiaraBot then chooses its existing randomized check-in message when the hour opens.

Editing a saved message does not change a check-in that TiaraBot has already posted. A queued opening uses the latest value when TiaraBot prepares its message. Once preparation succeeds, retries reuse the prepared content.

Edit a message in Discord

Run /checkin saved to open TiaraBot's native one-hour editor.

OptionRequiredUse
hourYesThe event-relative schedule hour to edit.
channel_nameNoThe logical running-channel name. If omitted, TiaraBot uses the current Discord channel.
server_idNoThe server to edit. If omitted, TiaraBot uses the current server. Supply it when running the command from a DM.

The modal loads the current saved value. Submit a blank value to restore the Random default. If another editor saves the same hour first, TiaraBot rejects the outdated save instead of replacing the newer value. Review the current value, then run the command again with the message you want.

See Command permissions and parameters for the full command permission table.

How check-in chooses the message

For automatic check-in, TiaraBot uses the saved message for the current event, running channel, and Schedule Hour. An absent or cleared value uses the randomized default.

For /checkin manual, an explicit one-time template still takes precedence. Without that option, TiaraBot uses the saved hourly message and then the randomized default.

Saved messages belong to the current event and running channel. Two running channels can use different messages for the same Schedule Hour. When the authoritative event start changes, TiaraBot starts a fresh message set, so messages from the previous event do not carry over.
